I ran that setup and I loved it. People on the club think otherwise, but the car in that link was actually mine. I would definately get that over a catback for a number of reasons:

1. I had an hks grapefruits shooter exhaust before and in 5th gear on the freeway it grabbed attention from everyone, but with the cut out and the stock catback, the car sounds completely stock.

2. It scares the **** out of the muscle guys when you roll up on them and dump your cutout and all there here is your turbo spooling through your exhaust.

3. You are very stealth and dont have to deal with the cops.

Up to you, but I ran it for 2 years and loved every bit of it. Also, on the dyno it adds about 30whp vs a stock (not an aftermarket) probably the same or close to as a 3" catback, but its nice to have it when you want and quite when you dont

I also bought the QTP and ran it for about 3 days. The Valve worked well but not on a tuned WRX. I worked with Nate to try to get it to work but it would require two seperate maps and a way to switch between them. The problem I had was that the ECU would "Learn" the valve in the closed mode and when I opened the valve it would take 15-20 minutes of driving to actually see a big power gain. I tried it with both my Cobb Access Port and my Ecutek reflash and didn't like the results. I ended up pulling it off and it's still in my garage. I'd happily sell it if anyone in interested.

It's not that easy. You would have to have a "Y" pipe welded inplace of a 10" section of tubing. If you didn't like it you would have to weld in new tubing.

if you do get one dont weld it too close to the downpipe as when they try to tune it the probe is going to be right next to the turbo.

California Vehicle states that you must have a muffler...

CVC 27150(a):
Every motor vehicle subject to registration shall at all times be equipped with an adequate muffler in constant operation and properly maintained to prevent any excessive or unusual noise, and no muffler or exhaust system shall be equipped with a cutout, bypass, or similar device.
