i just talked to my other buddy that also does installs. he just did a remote start on a manual 350z on sunday. he said that it worked fine because he went to the ECU to bypass the clutch or neutral thing. he knows the lingo more than i do. If anyone is interested, he can set it up for you guys. Just PM me and ill ask what he can do.

Don't forget if your key has a little chip in it, you're going to have the sacrifice one of your car keys for the remote start to work. My 05 STI key has a chip, but im not sure about 04.

If you are going clifford/viper, I would reccommend SpeedZone in SF. Raymond that works there is a certified Clifford dealer/installer. He also will give you one replacement remote for free if anything goes wrong with the original one.

PM for more details.

remote start alarm.

I actually installed a viper 791xv remote start alarm on my 05 wrx 5 speed.
Its not that hard to do It took me like 6 hours. I love it i installed one in my last car (3000gt) It is 100 percent SAFE
first of all I would like to mention that you do not need a clutch bypass. but you do need to bypass the clutch. if you look at the clutch pedal and follow it up there is a harness with a green and yellow wire you have to tap into.
second. Subaru also has a neutral safety wire on the car already(located at the ecm). which means if you connect it to the alarm then the car would not remote start if its not in gear(just in case you accidentally left it in gear, or if you had to when parked on a hill)
I also have it set up to only start when I have the e brake up.
t is also a good idea to install a hood pin switch (you don't want to be wrenching and some jackass starting your car on you lol)
I installed one of these also
http://www.drdetailshop.com/556T.htm
What you can do with this is set a specific time you want the car to start, and it will start. it works great for when I'm at school. I have it set to start so that its warmed up automatically when i get to my car.
just to summarize my car will NOT remote start if
the hood is open
if its in gear
if the parking brake is not up
if the brake pedal is pressed down
This was actually my first mod to my subaru over a year ago.
viper actually has some remote start units that have a 1 mile range.
the best part of the 791xv is its also 2 way page
