Recommendations for wedding DJ
since there has been a few threads on recommendations for wedding photographer and videographer, i wanted to throw out a thread for recommendations for a DJ. I am in the market for a DJ for my wedding this August so any suggestions would be awesome!
Here is sort of what we are looking for :
- price = less then 1K
- plays an array of music, whatever you hear in the clubs these days, plus some off hand stuff for like entrance of the wedding party, us, father/daughter dance music, mother/son dance....etc...
- special effects (truss (sp?) with some lights and what not on it for the night dancing, plus hopefully they have fog machine for what i have planned for when they announce us for first time at reception)
- time of use = 5:30pm-11:30pm, August 16
cant think of anything else right now, but yeah any help would be great...the guy we thought could do it, is not sure he can do it so we need to find someone that is a for-sure thing.
thanks guys,
- daniel

I recommend Mark Hardin of "A Big Ticket Sound Experience". Fellow i-clubber Egan used Mark when he got married, which is when I first saw Mark in action. I got his card and my wife and I hired him for our wedding the following year.
What you get with Mark is a DJ and a coordinator. You meet with him in advance at his office or his home office to set up your song playlist, wants, hates, etc. We gave him an itinerary for the wedding and when he got there he set up everything, did all of the announcing and directed the guests what to do when, kept us on time, etc. On top of all that, he's a really cool guy, easy going and easy to work with. He knows his job is to make your wedding exactly what you want, and he does everything to make sure you get that.
