Yeah.... maybe it was YOU! I would have kept it was a trophy or something but is was covered in grease and I didn't want to put it in the trunk.
I even looked over the tires for wear on Sunday and didn't see it. There was no rubbing noise etc.. Hoche has acused me in the past of installing some kind of cone removal system. Apparently my photo shows the inner workings of such a device.

HA! I KNEW IT!
Skylar: "Look, do you see any cones knocked over out there? Huh? Then I must not've hit any!"
News update on our boys in Nebraska:
They made it out there OK in my van, but the car isn't happy. Under hard acceleration and other abrupt maneuvers shows a CEL and it switches into limp-home mode. They have all day tomorrow (Sat) to try to figure it out. Unfortunately the nearest Subaru dealer is over 100mi away and closes at noon on Saturdays.

Yeah, I talked to Pete on the adventures they're going through over in Nebraska. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Good thing they had a shakedown day to take care of all that crap though.
Ed - I told Pete to call you about the problems he's having falling into "limp home" mode over and over. Don't know if there's anything to suggest over the phone, but he's stumped.
Per the cone: I think my official line is to blame it on Ed's fun run.

So outside of the car not working so well, Hastings is pretty cool. I walked the course today with Marek and it's a mile long series of wide sweepers with maybe 1 or 2 cones per arc. Skylar, you should have come out here.
Regarding the car: we still have 1 day to debug it. Ed gave me some good ideas to try and I'm going to make a few more phone calls in the morning to see if anyone has any thoughts. That being said, if anyone knows all the criterea for a Subaru to go into "limp home" mode i'd be very interested to hear it.

I'll just keep using the thread...
The car keeps dieing... I had to do a 1/4 limited at 3000rpm and Marek had a DNF from it limping off the launch. Even with this, after the first day Marek is 1st in RM4 and I'm second. We've gotten lots of imformation from a bunch of sources (Thanks to Ed, Shiv and the guy at Santa Cruz Subie) and still no luck fixing the car. We've got the 2nd and 3rd fastest times of the day on a broken STi and we're sure we could have owned this event with a working car.... but that's what Rally is about, right?
...And for those who might ask: P2128 and it goes into "limp home" mode. Reproduces now with *and* without engine management replabily from really high power starts. XMap reads that the TPS output is reading fine. Who knows, maybe I have a bad ECU.

Ok, we're bringing back the following:
1 tired and decrepid 2004 STi on a trailer
2 tired rallyXers
1 unstopable Ford Van
1 1st place trophy for Rally-Modified-4
1 2nd place trophy for Rally-Modified-4
Consider it "broughted", oh-yeah
Pete & Marek - Team Go Big (Go Big or Go Home)
ps - we're just outside of Sac right now so we'll be home tonight. I'll try and post up some stuff tomorrow with pics.

heh, the travel madness set in about 30 miles from Fremont on the way out. Our lowest moment of the trip was Friday night after everything had gone wrong: heading back to the hotel with a Pizza and beer to find that the pizza was the worst we'd ever tasted and we didn't have a bottle-opener. We were both in tears from laughter and knowing that things could only get better from there.

Hey Pete.. check out my final numbers now that it's tuned. Pretty nice for a stock STi.
