That's probably your fastest bet but a little bit more complicated, but that one goes -

680N>580E>205>5N>4E>99N

99 turns into business 80. follow that and you will merge with 80>Exit Madison East then turn left on Auburn Blvd. The club is on the right IIRC.

If you keep going up Auburn Blvd. you will hit Greenback. Take a right and you'll eventually see sunrise mall (there's a movie theater there) and a bunch of other places you can kill time at.

Hope that helps.

I recommend staying off 5 on a Friday. 80 might get slow, but its still faster than the "long way" as I call it.

I dont know the freeway names that well in the bay anymore, but go through walnut creek to benecia to the cutoff over to 80 and it should be quicker.

If you leave at 1pm, it wont take that long.

Watchout for cops too, stay 75mph or lower on 80.

Steve,

When 680 hits 80 after the Benicia bridge, it goes from two slow lanes to 1 non-moving lane on Fridays. :rotfl:

So true!

I used to drive from Santa Clara to Davis every Friday! Leave before 2PM because you will hit traffic.

The 680 to 80 route will require 3hrs if you leave SJ from 3-7PM. The departure time is the only thing I can help.

Oh, there's also a little shortcut at the 680 to 80 interchange...Gold Valley Road or something like that...that will shave perhaps 5-10 minutes, so it's inconsequential.

Forget all the major highways.

google map highway 160 over the oakley bridge. You get a little slowdown on highway 4 before you get to oakley, but after that, it's just zooming along the levies all the way up to sac.

i doubt it...it's not that confusing. if you follow everybody else, it'll dump you out to I-5.

IF he's brave and tries to get through via West Sacramento, yeah, it can be confusing driving on Ryer's island...BUT, it's lots of fun, the roads are nice and empty, and you get to ride a ferry for free.

I'd say go 680>80 since the new interchange on 680 it's not that bad anymore.

If he does it right he can actually get 2 ferry rides!

I love those delta levee roads!

You are so wrong, just because you can go from one traffic jam to another a little easier doesn't make it a good way to get there
