Question about installing Apex-i N1 exhaust?
Sup all, my question is I ordered a new Apex-i N-1 exhaust system and was wondering should I get it installed @ GST or would it be safe to have a friend who is a tech at a toyota dealership?. He will do it for free but im thinking would I need someone who works on subarus on a daily basis? Im willing to drop a bill for a good install at GST and I dont know if its just a direct bolt on or will I need special hangers for an 05 wrx. thanx in advance!

Do it yourself! The money you spend going to a shop can be spent investing in tools that can last you a life time. If you love cars, working on your own car is really fun and you get to learn how to deal with problems you didn't thikn you would have. I'm pretty sure there are DIY's online somewhere, and if not, well, it's just take off bolts and put back on.
Some word of advice, if your car is pretty old, those bolts can be pretty stubborn. When we were newbs, it took us 6 hours to take one bolt off, and about 2 days to do the exhaust. Make sure to get Liquid Wrench from home depot or something and spray it on the bolts the night before or couple of hours before. Also get a cheater bar or breaker bar if those bolts still want to be a pain. The initial investment in tools can be hard on your wallet but it really does pay off since we've been using the same tools for 2 years now. and you can keep adding to your collection. we broke a few sockets the first time. i suggest you get craftsman because if y ou break them you can get a free replacement no questions asked. Kragen's is a ***** because they want your receipt and crap.
we broke about 4 or 5 socket wrenches (all pos) when we did our friend's e36's full suspension.
If you have any problems post on the boards and we'll be happy to help!
