I keep hearing the "I would buy it if it had more power/a turbo" even at work now. Mostly from people who do not seem to know how to drive in a spirited manner or that have an actual interest in cars/driving.
Personally, I think Subaru should keep the product lines exactly as they are, and slap in the current WRX STi's 2.5L turbo in a special model called the "GT-Murica" or something for the people who don't get it but still want a car that looks like this. I know this sounds silly, but - IMHO, they would sell a load of cars, and probably still the same exact amount of the new STi model. The stupid comments would go away, and we could see some awesome actual on-track races between BRZ's with loads of power, and BRZ's with loads of balance.
Sort of like Chevy with the "SS" and "Z/28" Camaros in 1969. The SS was the one with the big engine and large numbers to put in magazines, while the Z/28 was the one for people who were interested in performance and a car that would be useful on a race track.

Even if you were driving a Fit having better brakes is always going to be better if you have to stand on your brake. I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter how much power you have, if you can't stop in time, you're still screwed.
Max power isn't nearly as important as usable power. Those of us that go to the track and drive at 9/10ths or 10/10ths understand the necessity of good brakes. I've found that those that haven't really experienced the limits of their cars are hard to convince otherwise.

well Im definitley not concerned as much whether or not it has a turbo as much as it possibly going to cost $41k+. with or without a turbo thats a ridiculous amount that puts it into a whole different ballpark and completely flys in the face of what the BRZ/FRS was meant to be in the first place

I missed the $41k part. That's crazy. Reminds me of the whole intro of the 350Z..

According to the article these models are designated TS = Tuned by STI, not an actual STI variant.
