puppies???

a buddy of mine is looking for a puppy.

We found the perfect one and the shelter ****ed him over. We were there when the dog got dropped off...literally. There was already one name on the list. My buddies was second.

Well they told him to come in friday at noon and if the other party wasn't there he would get the pup. So he came in before they opened and waited. They told him the pup was already adopted and gone already...they were not opened yet.

My theory is that it was an employee or an employees friend. My buddy was seriously in pieces. I personally would have given them an earful and asked to see inside and talk to the manager. He couldn't handle that. So he left.

Anyone have any good sources for online pups or quality pup shelters. He wants a rescue.

keep looking at shelters, plenty of puppies (and older ones too) need homes.
Maybe try shelters in other areas. Marin county has a terrific facilty in Novato.

we're in watsonville and we can't just drive out to marin. It's why I'm looking for online listings..tried craigslist and puppyfinder and petfinder.com The only ones we can drive to are say from monterey to san jose.

My buddy wants a puppy. Needs to be young.

We have 2 dogs already and he lives with us and we don't want to deal with having to put a full grown dog into the mix.

haaa. sad but true.

I was dead on with what was going on at the shelter. The pup is still there. There is a call out to the supervisor. They are holding the pup until the sup decides who gets the pup. The staff is on my buddies side as he did what he was suppose to.

so still a chance...the pup is a sweatheart...huge too. Gonna be a big dog. Maybe kick my dogs butt into shape..haa. ball of energy. Some wierd mix. Has the body of a large lab or a rot even..crazy thick tail and huge feet.

he's wanted a dog for a long time. He had his hopes high on getting the dog as the shelter told him he probably would get it. So that's his bad on getting his hopes up so high.

But it's really not hard to get attached to an animal very quickly. If you're an animal person that is.

shoot I'd kill someone that ever tried to mess with my dog...literally.

and as it turns out I was right. He just talked to the supervisor and the sup said flat out one of his employees was pulling something and he plans to talk to said employee and call my friend back.

Don't buy while millions of others die.

In reference to buying dogs from breeders.

Breeders must die.

All my dogs have been pure breds, there is a reason I like pure breds over muts. Sorry but the people that have muts need to fix them so people don't feel the need to adopt these cross breeds.

FYI, most any animal adopted from the Humane Society comes to the new owner as a fixed animal.

all animals that come through the shelters are fixed.

All your dogs have been pure bred????How many have you had.....how many did YOU pay for?

for your information..many pure breds are overbread and over inbred. They have TONS of defects. And not all adopted/shelter dogs are "muts"

I had a purebred RESCUED rot. It died at just under a year and a half old. Outgrew it's organs and died slowly before we could figure out what was wrong. It was torture. Problem in the bloodline.

I've had purebreds before. To me....it's about the charecter of the dog...not the snobby paperwork.
