Pumpkin spice ale - which one?

It's october/halloween yadda yadda

I so far have not been terribly impressed with the couple of pumpkin spice ales I've tried. I can't even remember which one.

But is there a good one out there?

I've had an Allegash with coriander spice (not pumpkin) which I enjoyed, so when in the mood I would think that a good pumpkin spice beer is possible.

Shocktop pumpkin is a cheap and decent one compared to the other garbage pumpkin ones I've had.

I cant stand any of them. People keep buying them for me saying "oh you hated that other one, you will LOVE this one." No I just don't like pumpkin spiced ales. If anyone gets me any this season I will give it to you.

Buffalo Bills is pretty good, although I know some people who don't like it.

I think dogfish head is pretty dope... it's expensive though

I love beer talk on i-club, its awesome! But Im with the others Im not a huge pumpkin spice brew kinda guy...I have the theory that if you have to add things other than fermentable sugars you are on par with a mix drink (with less abv, lol). Now Oktoberfest brews I can get down with, as its a traditional German style beer that is pretty hard to brew and make awesome.

But I have started to brew winter beers (as compared to my normal hop heavy PA's and IPA's)...fermenting a oatmeal stout as we speak. I do want to do a nice high ABV dark lager like a doppelbock for this winter, and being the lager time it will be ready to drink late winter. Or maybe a Belgian trippel or quad...something that will warm the belly as it goes down.

Here is my brewery, its a more beer tippy dump replica built by me.

Shipyard smashed pumpkin ale. 9%abv and not gross like every other pumpkin beer I've had. Thank me later, if you can find it...
