So there I am driving to visit my mom and im just passing the target near victoria park (3pm-ish) when I come to a stop light a milpitas police bike pulls up next to my passenger window and points for me to pull over. Now I know I was not speeding and my car is only lowered w/ cobb springs ..and a Rfl bov lol ya ya I know, but anyway I pull over and he pulls up right next to me while still on his bike and says "is that an STI?" I reply no officer its a Wrx. He then says "ok is everything on this car stock..including that exhast system you have there?" I say my exhaust is stock officer (lol for now) and I bought the car last year at stevens creek subaru and they told me that everything on the car was stock except for the springs which are 2.0 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. He then says " ok but im not concerned about the springs its what I heard is whats bothering me..can your please pop your hood for me? I say of course and I can also start up the car for you so you can see that the exhaust is stock. He says " no just the hood for now please." So I play dumb act like I cant find the hood latch on the hood and say wow like I said I just got the car a year ago ..oh wait there it is :: open ::

Cop says ok whats that thing? pointing at my Bov, I say heh yea I dont know maybe its the blowoff valve for the turbo I think. So me and him are just looking at my engine bay clueless and he pulls out a piece of paper and its a picture of a modified engine of a friggin honda!!! and points to the pic and says "hmm that looks like that ..a fuel regulator". I then say nicely excuse me but thats a picture of a honda engine mines a subaru and I dont have that sir.

He then says well ive never seen this before and I say yea me too I just assumed it came with the car, he says " well maybe thats stock for the car since it is a turbo well you can go now I have no further questions and drive safe" I then proceed to tell him thankyou and that Im against streetracing (which i am) incase thats what you were wondering and that most of the subaru owners here are too (pointing to my i-club decal) and he says "no I wassent you look like a nice kid just becarful" (shakes my hand and rides off)

I guess he was a hella cool cop just n00bish which is scary to me because im sure he could have just very well have said it was a fuel regulator and not even listen to my side of the story and given me a citation for it. So now im kinda spooked about installing my Apex-1 N1 CBE system lol, I also felt kind of bad for playing dumb I dont know guilty conscience I guess.

Heh yea I know bruce, Im almost tired of the sound so I might soon. I know its more of a bling mod for now plus im 4eat so it only goes off when Im at WOT and let off the gas which isnt so bad, its just my 1st turbo car so Im just enjoying the sound for now lol

i got pulled over for the exhaust BOV and the flames thatcame out of my exhaust!

they couldnt prove nything and let me go!

but just to showcops are crackin down hard!

my suggestion is keep cat back stock and everythin else modify

Yeah bro, you got lucky. Last Friday a CHP pulls me over when I'm already at a stop and accuses me of racing another car. Like every other car here I'm against racing since I tend to not like high insurance prices (though I'm paying an arm and a leg) and he wouldn't listen and said he clocked 2 people doing 95mph (kind of impossible for me to do 95mph behind a chevy tahoe doing 70-75mph) so I now have to deal with fighting a bogus ticket.

Pretty funny story, but pretty damn scary as well. Milpitas and San Jose cops seem to be harassing drivers a lot more nowdays. Thank god I haven't had any problems in San Francisco (knock on wood).

So I See im not the only one feeling the grasp of the modified crackdown. but driving off I coulndt help but not be mad that my Hyphy yeeee wigga cousin drives his dam ls/vtech, modifed to high hell integra all over the bayarea at night and never been hasseled lol sob!!

ive been pulled over three times for "ilegal parts" still no ticets

just dont act stupid tell them exactly what they want to know!!
