Public Cannabis consumption in Santa Cruz?
Ok on the lines of the oyster thread i created about Santa Cruz....
Say I was a patient who's card has just expired (so I would be renewing soon), and I happen to be in Santa Cruz - anyone from there know what the attitude of local law enforcement towards the public consumption of medication during daylight hours?
I've heard and read in the past that officials in SC are very progressive, though unfortunately none of my immediate friends in the area are knowledgeable in this area.

i've been caught with about 1 oz of trees awhile drinking/bonfire at ocean beach in frisco.
police gathered us up, about 5 of us...police calls for back up, does back ground on us, gets searched, one guy gets cuffed for being a smart *** and in the end, they let us go but of course, they took all our weed and all pipes but 1 of them because a chick asked for it back cus it had sentimental values.
there is no way around a dick cop but most cops will let it slide...knocks on wood.

This reminds me of when I was at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I was waiting in line when the guy in front of me breaks out his pipe and starts blazing without a care in the world. It was a ballsy move, but I later found out he had a medical pot card. He was nice enough to offer those around him a hit. I didn't hit it and I didn't mind him "medicating" himself.

theres a measure passed about that sort of.
9.84.020 Purpose
The purpose of this chapter is:
(1) to make investigations, citations, arrests, property seizures, and prosecutions for adult marijuana offenses the lowest law enforcement priority for the city of Santa Cruz;
(2) to establish a city policy supporting changes in state and federal laws that support a system of taxation and regulation for adult use of marijuana; and
(3) to transmit notification of the enactment of this chapter to state and federal elected officials who represent the city of Santa Cruz.

yes! that's what I was looking for - I'm aware that in several places in California enforcement has been placed to "lowest priority"
