Prosport Halo vs Defi BF?

I really love the quality of Defi and the BF series is a perfect match to the stock gauges... but they're pricey, require the control link and they don't come in US measurements.

The Prosport Halo series look like a pretty darn close match (haven't seen them in person yet), have the same features, are cheaper and do come in US measurements.

I cant decide... I dont care about being JDM but i do want a quality product that matches the OEM setup. Anyone have Prosport gauges that can add their input?

A lot of people are talking about how they like the Defi's reliability and accuracy better. But I have yet to see a difference first hand. Also, the new Prosports are built w/ more reliable parts and most of the time have good customer service, they're not perfect but they try.

I love the Prosport products but I also love Defi. I'd say find people who have them around you and check em out. Or head out to a shop to see the difference. Defi's are deadly accurate though, and they're very responsive and fast. Even for a electronic. If you do end up going with something for any reason make sure you're really set on it because both are a good chunk of change. I'd say call Josh at Importimage or Dan at MachV motorosports or (fastwrx.com) and ask them some good questions.

I have prosport premiums. They do the job just fine. And are far less expensive than the defis. Never heard of the halos. I guess they're new?

I loved my Defi Gauges when I had them.

I know GST use to have the 3 Defi BF gauges and controller for $800 which is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

They do. You just had to ask for them. But they no longer make the BF gauges.. They stopped last year for most the gauges and finished up production on the left overs in march.

Oh I would claim different. They are lets say in the ball park.

The Defi's are nice bling. Yes I own a set. They get you in the ball park with whats going on. Thats about it. Not saying its bad, But really most that have them are about the dog n pony show that comes with owning them.

For real info only a logger would get you accurate numbers.

I have not seen the other brand. I would look into them But I have a huge investment into the defi's and don't want to go thru the trouble of parting them out.

I've had both. Defi bf and prosport premium. The defi gauges were loads better but you really can't beat the cost of the prosports. My defi's work the same for almost two years, while the prosport gave in after about 6 months. Good thing with that is replacement is economical with the prosports.

I have the Prosport Halo Boost and Oil Press. Have had the boost gauge in the car for at least 6 months without issue, and I've put quite a few miles on my car in that time. The only minor complaint about the halos is the fact that you can't choose a different color for night, only brightness. At night, even with it on amber at the lowest level it would reflect off the windshield. I put the shroud over it since and sovled that.

^ thanks for the photo... that looks nice. Is the red lighting an exact match? Looks pretty close in all the online images I've seen.

The Maddads seem to be another option. But I've read some mixed reviews regarding quality.

I like the look of their digital gauges but it'd probably get annoying to read after awhile.
