why build a car like that around a McCrap Strut suspension system?
why not fully multilink front and rear, then make those subframes compatible with GDA/GDB Imprezas??

you musta missed the part that said they wanted to try and keep the price DOWN as low as possible and easy to work on/service.
Because the P2 is being developed with readily available components which are already featured in a mass-produced vehicle, the P2 would not only have a reasonable price tag that's estimated to be £40,000 (equivalent to $74,000 USD, $90,000 CAD, though £40k is Boxster/Z4/SLK money, making a more reasonable conversion $50,000 USD/$70,000 CAD), but could be driven every day and serviced with ease.
using parts that already exist will keep the cost MUCH lower than trying to re-engineer the entire suspension system.....besides McPhearson (sp?) strut type suspentions are not all that bad if you set them up properly, and replacement parts are cheap comparitively speaking.
