It was a great day, I showed up a little after 12:30 and was one of those standing near the front door. It was a good thing I was back there, at times I had to wipe the tears and clear my nose too. The song on the guitar got me good, and then his cousin with the Keep poem / story got me as well.
Eric will forever be in our hearts, if you had ever talked to him via PM or in person I am sure you would agree.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Eric, but from all the posts above, I can tell was an awesome guy. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I have personally experienced the passing of two awesome people (my father and Dan) and it saddens me to hear of another. RIP Eric, I know you are in a better place now.

he really was a one of a kind person...never met someone like him in all my life. always smiling, always going out of his way for others, always polite, always appreciative.
his dad came by the shop the other day...heart wrenching to say the least but at the same time it was nice to hear of Eric again.
Every weekend prior to a race weekend Eric would be here to watch, to see what we were doing, and to just hang out and talk shop.
he is/was a fantastic individual, as I told his dad...he is missed by us but never forgotten.

Update:
While my friend Eric is no longer with us to appreciate his car, we have found someone who will appreciate it alot more IMHO>
Eric's father has decided to keep and drive the car (on E85 no less) for the interim until it can be sold to a new owner intact.
NO PART OUT - Thank God.
At any rate, RAPTR and I went up yesterday to help Eric's dad tidy up the car, teach him to drive it, and get it back on the road. RAPTR did most of the work as I was knee-deep in modding some EVO fenders. :]
His dad drove it away with a smile from ear to ear. Just as Eric did.
Good times....

A few months later and I still think about Eric on almost a daily basis...

I will admit that I frantically tried to sell my truck to try and buy Eric's car and keep it around.

Hey everyone,
For those of you who knew Eric Houts and is attending this year's BAM X, there will be a time slot for him for those of you who would like to make a tribute for him. I didn't know Eric but he seems like a great guy and it's be great if any of you would like to make a little tribute for him. You are more than welcome to sell the stickers made for him/collect funds for his family/etc. There will be a 15-30 minute slot for this tribute. This is a great time for you to share the wonderful memories you have of him with all of I-club.
I just wanted to get an idea of how many people are interested in taking this on, if there are none, unfortunately this would not be able to be a part of BAM X.
Please let me know asap if any of you are interested in taking this on. If so, please contact me via pm.
Thanks.
