This thread was the first thing to pop into my head when I woke up. We've lost folks before but. It seems when it's self inflicted that the occurrence hits us much harder. Tragedy either way.
+1 for a moment of silence at BAM this year??
To onemanarmy:
you're definitely not alone. Depression is a silent killer. Takes a lot of guts to admit that you've been there. Thanks for sharing with us. I wanted to let you guys know that in this Subaru community, I found a family. I moved to Vallejo and didn't know anybody in my town. At mid 20s it was pretty tough to meet new people and I lived 100 miles away from my nearest friend. It was really lonely and depressing for months. I bought a wrx after being a fan for years and attended the Turlock, ffbn, and coco meets. The guys there were always welcoming even though I was a bit older than most of them, and at that time, a brand new face in a bone stock bug eye. my car has dramatically changed, but the family vibe has not. The Vallejo def sik meetwas then founded in Vallejo and quickly became a 2nd family. Much love and respect to my Defsik family. We even opened the doors to other crews such as j_status and A.D.D.icts. It's all family. The important part to me is that without hesitation, the members of this community brought me out of a really dark place and I wanna thank my def sik brothers for that, but also the suby community in general. Last but not least
+111111111 for all the local shops participation in this community of ours, not just to make a buck, but for being good caring people on top of good businessmen.
Sorry so long winded. Thanks for reading.

Damn, just read about this. I had met Eric for the first and only time about a month ago. He was helping out another buddy of his roll his fenders. Really nice guy and had a mean STI.
RIP Eric. Condolences and prayers out to your close friends and family.

I kept waking up last night wondering/fearing I didn't say bye to Eric when he was here the other day picking up parts. I just watched our surveillance footage back from the other day when he was here and it was nice to see/hear him so happy and to know I said my goodbye to him (as I usually did). Weird how something as minor as a goodbye means so much.

Just over a year ago, I had a friend call me and left a message mere hours before she killed herself.
For some reason, I saved the message (before I found out she killed herself).
I still have it & listen to from time to time.

Ah! This is very sad to hear. I personaly did not know him, but if I'm correct he has tuned white STI and likes to run at infineon with othe subie freinds?
Sorry, if I'm wrong. But if that's him, I think I have pics and video of his ride runing at infineon. It was one of my favorite car at the track. I did post something like that here. He offered me to come down at the track next day and check his ride. I didn't make it. I wish I went. People made fun of us for bro-romance on that thread - when I admired his ride and courage to be out there on the track reprsenting subie community.
I would like to post that video if it's him. But I don't know how to post video. It's from my i-phone so quality is not that great.
