Our petite dogs can do anything big dogs do... Jasmine can pull me on my bike no problem on our walks... She gets tired after about 2 blocks but she loves it, and when she does get tired, she rides on my lap on the way back home...

Oh, and how many of you big dog owners are able to bring your dogs grocery shopping on a regular basis?!?

Don't get me wrong, I love little dogs, all dogs for that mater. But I take my GSD on 10+ mile hikes, he comes fishing with me, we do pretty intense search/find training, protection work, and so on, and I just haven't seen many smaller dogs that can handle that kind of work. Once again, I am not bagging on smaller dogs, because they are pretty rad in their own way. Just want to know what activities you all enjoy with your smaller breeds.

Smaller dogs can not do everything larger dogs can do, and larger breeds cannot do everything smaller dogs do. They each have their own place on this earth.

And I bring my 85 lbs 9.5 month old GSD to the grocery store at least once a week, and no one has said a word, besides wow, what a beautiful dog!

yeah i get what you are saying. Wasnt meaning in a harsh way at all when i was talking about our little ones So many people ask what they can do and why we have them lol. Lots of times she usually goes everywhere with me and living in a very small place at the moment so picking a small dog was our only choice because i wont put a big dog in a small place. I hope to get a bigger dog once we get our house but at the mean time not going to put them through that.

I personally like all dogs or most animals for that matter. I cant be around snakes and things of that nature though haha. but the furry friends i always have a soft spot for. And seeing as my husband and i cant have kids i fill my heart with animals

What do you consider small dogs. Our dogs are about 30 lbs each, so I don't know if that is little or not. As long as you are happy with your dog it is perfect for you. Where do you shop at grocery with your dog?

haha some of ours would eat stuff I am sure lol but the one bryan and I take to the store is so well behaved she just sits there.

Bryans dog is 10 lbs my dog is 4-5 lbs and his 2 teacups are 2 lbs. so all together they are less than 20 lbs.

Cool, different dogs for different people. I grew up with big dogs, german shepherds, rottweilers, and a great dane. It's just as much pleasure whether its a big dog or a small dog. Though with a small dog, I somewhat realize I can go more places without a "no dogs allowed" kinda thing.
