and heres a fun fact. 'Jesus' is not his real name, thats the Latin word for 'Joshua', which was his real Hebrew name.

Facts and more facts..
1)The "bible" is not one book, but made up of many books written over a period of about 2000 years. A group in the catholic church came together in about 1100ad and decided what books went into it, and what books to 'hide" and leave out including many written by "Jesus" and his followers.
2)If you let go of a bowling ball, and a flat sheet of steel edge first, the steel will beat the bowling ball by quite a distance to the ground. This is due to the negative pressure formed around the top edge of the ball as it falls causing drag.
3)On that same line of fact, the only thing that holds an airplane in the air, is vacuum (negative pressure). Its not the engine, its not pressure pushing up on the plane, in effect, a plane stays in the air due to being "sucked" up.

while that used to be the case, some stunt planes and modern fighters with vectoring thrust can stay in the air and maneuver from sheer thrust without reliance on classical aerodynamics.

but it aint just the tail nozzle that does all the work.
even going back to the harrier, you had a mid fuselage nozzles to balance the aircraft.
otherwise, if all the power is just from tail, it will head nose first into the ground.
in the F-35, if you watched the DIE HARD 4 movie, where a piece of concrete fell into the mid engine fan, which took out the aircraft out of action...

Krinkov,
If you simply go by the way the bible is written and look at Jesus as the son of God and thus a human then it is totally possible.
I know exactly what you're saying, though. Thanks Catholicism!

1/2 = 2/4 = 0.5 = 5/10
It's just semantics.

in a classic fix wing aircraft, and not a glider, the engine causes enough forward momentum. the design of the wing (bernoulli's principle) takes over, and then the lift occurs, which you pointed out.
but without the forward momentum, lift cannot occur without it.
obviously, with a glider, something has to bring it up to certain altitude and when it does, the properties of a engined fix wing aircraft going into effect.
now... rotary winged aircraft... that's a thread in itself... lol...

If you drop a rubber ball from a building each time it strikes the ground it only return bounces up half of the height distance it was dropped from. and each consecutive time it bounces with will only bounce half of the distance from which it just fell.

Now someone pointed out vectored thrust planes, and while yes, planes like the Raptor, Blackbird, F-117, even the B2, all have ZERO glide path. They still must conform to some aerodynamic ideals. In the raptors case, you still have a wing path, but they body is included in said shape, to create lift at the center X/Y point.
The downside of modern jets (like the F-22, F-18, F-117, JSF, and even the F-15) is that they have ZERO glide pattern. That means the engines cut out, and they fly...about as well as a brick!

Ahh quite true, unless its some of the new generation synthetic compounds they have come up with. Then they have found up to a 70% return of energy, but still physics says you can never get 100% of your energy in return.

pure honey will not go bad/rotten
pure honey is also antiseptic and can be used to cover a wound as a temporary dressing (no pun intended)
and...dovetailing off what was said above,
two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do!
and, opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one.
