haha like the pics! nice board collection!
yeah your right about the crate motor. Definately a lot less work as far as getting everything to work right off the bat. Definitely one of my options. Nice looking motor though. Hope it all works out. When you get your **** done we should cruise. You ever go to the goodguys car shows? Im gonna have my car in it in november.

I will be spending a lot of time cruising with this dude...
His car is way different now. Has a visor. Peaked the hood. Custom eyebrows... like 55 chevy. Etc. Sick.
I rarely go to good guys. To damn expensive and not really my scene.
We put on a car show this year called Pride of the Champ. I'm more in to that. Billetproof. Asphault Invitational. Strangers show in san jose. Stuff like that.
Pride of the champ... free entry with car... one passenger. $3 walk in.
I hate good guys. All about profit.

word. Dead honest... if I was driving a chevy... I'd order a crate motor. Insured. Guaranteed turn key. WAY better than pieceing one together and you can get one with 350 or more for under $3000. I thought about it. Hell I've got nearly $1000 invested in in just the top end and its not a performance build... haaaa.
But yeah nothing like a crate.

But that's $600 before any break downs or issues getting it running. Time to tune the carbs and timing. A rebuild when it goes boom which could be in 100 miles or 100,000.
crate motors come with 2 or 3 year warranties and the edlebrock ones come pretuned. Great choice for a car that gets driven a lot.
For a hot rod... I'd go with an O.G. motor though.. haaa. Big old bomb like an impala...no reason to lift the hood. In a hot rod its right there. Its almost all about the motor. Sick flat heads. Or old caddy mills like mine. Olds rocket motors. Hemi's. Etc. The more carbs the better as its not gonna get driven all the time and tinkering and tuning is part of the joy.
Tell your buddy good luck. Sounds like a fun car. I hope to build either a roadster or a truck in the next 5-7 years. After the caddy is done.

he rebuilt his dad's 41 ford truck, flathead, its pretty cool. All original, i mean, not all original, but not hot rod or modified.
Its such a comfortable ride, it begs for you to hang your whole elbow out, the door wraps around your body.
Funny to watch him hand crank to start it when the battery is gone haha.
like this, but dark forest green body with black fenders, and lower profile front bumper.

You should try the Lake Cunnigham Regional Park if you're ever in the South Bay. It's one of the biggest around, in CA maybe, and during the weekdays, especially in the mornings, there's almost no one there! I go a couple times a month usually. I'll try to find the link.
