oh, and bankman, what those ****ers did is bull****. be sure to show the judge that your car has Daytime Running Lights and turn on with the ebrak is put down automagically. Here is the citizen complaint form from the CHP website:

Fight the ticket. If you drive an 02/03, you can't lose for the lights. You have DRL's.

And don't yell at cops. Man you got a big set of stones. In case you didn't know, they don't have to obey traffic laws. You do. Get over it.

I dont have time to read all the posts, so someone might have said this. Heres what I would do. I would first call the sfpd and have a personal complaint put on the officer involved. He cannot do anything about that and your complaint will be on his record forever. Second, Im not sure about the rs or other year wrxs, but I have an 04' and it has daytime running lights, so your lights would be on. Third if you have any problems with the officer after the complaint, I would call a lawyer and go right after the officer. I am majoring in Criminal Law and want to become a police officer and cops like that give such a bad name to police officers. Good luck and if you have any questions about anything let me know, I have a lot of friends that are cops and I could ask them what they would do for you.
