And Gagan, I don't know anything about that as I've only been doing it for a few months. Without knowing the circumstances of a close call 6 years ago, I don't know how it could relate to what happened last weekend. Seems kinda rash for a close call to be the reason NASA would just pull the plug? Sounds like maybe they were looking for a reason? Couldn't be politics at work... that would be crazy
from what i'm told, it was just how things were run. :shurgs: I've seen some nasa autoXes, and i've stayed away since then.

Matt:

It's just that after seeing (not participating be spectating) some nasa events, i was extremely turned off by their lack of safety sense (course design, poor worker instruction, poor administration). SCCA is an old club, and has been autoxing, for the most part successfully, for decades now. I'm just beginning to start on my 3rd full year of autoX and I'm also beginning to get more involved with SCCA (just got on the autox committee and I'm planning on going to flagging school so i can flag at big races) and it's just full of people who are experienced, friendly, and professional. It's not a club for anyone, you have to like it to want to be in it. Many people like NASA, many people like UFO, and some like SCCA, and other like the 4 other autox clubs around here. There is something to fit the lifestyle and preferences of everyone, however, i cannot give respect to any organization that heeds to a lack of safety like NASA does.

HPDE- track school, where you get an instructor to sit with you as you go around a race track... with about 30 other cars at the same time... it's more of a money making machine than anything else.

anyways, its late, and i'm going off topic...

-Gagan

Besides SCCA and UFO (NASA doesn't exist around SFR anymore), what other bay area clubs are there?
