We are talking about putting together a meet n drive in the OHV near Sacremento over at dirtyimpreza sometime soon. So, you don't have to go that far to have fun off road.

Prairie City has the RallyX track within its 4x4 boundries, so i guess you could get in and drive it. They also have the enormous trophy truck track which is like 50 feet or more wide it looked like that might be pretty smooth.
Hollister 4x4 section isnt that great, i was crawling and 3 wheelin it in many places, hardly anywhere to session. There are a few open gravel turns that are smooth but im sure a ranger would give you in trouble.

I got some roads over Cow Mountain OHV recreation area that would suffice, along with Bartlett Springs Rd. among many other roads which will completely cover you in enough mud so you'll look like a contented pig!!
