Planning to buy hella supertones...any inputs?

I feel the need to have a set of those on my car......
I am trying to decide between the 113db (300/375 hz) and the 118db (300/500hz) version.

I am leaning toward the 113db verison because of its lower tone....anybody has them?

also, I am worry that I will cause an accident when I use it........and I also don't want to be that loud when I am just trying to lock/unlock the doors.....

anybody can give me some advices and your opinions on those?
should I be worrying about killing ppl and the factory alarm being too loud?

get emmmm theyre fun! haha definately attention getters. i've scared so many people with em, but i've also spent a lot of time with ringing ears from people honking at me while working on my car

i think you can disable the horn on the factory alarm.... maybe im wrong, though.

i had supertones for a day and didn't like the sound, so I yanked em out and sold em. they're pretty loud, but, IMO, they sound like stock horns on steroids. I prefer the sound of air horns--too bad those have longer activation times.

Get the loud ones!!!! I've had the german imports for a while now and love 'em. They will scare the hell out of you and anyone you unleash thier fury on. It is so worth it.

Supertones are soooo played out.
But, if you're gonna buy them, get the ones made in Germany, not India.
German made = Good.
Indian made = Bad.

Why not get these?

Thumbs up

I've always used FIAMM ( Italian) horns on all of my cars since the 80's. Loud and a nice 2 tone.
I have their 2-tone air horns for my Odyssey minivan.
Stebel ( German) is another good brand of horns.

ehh... to disable your honking noise when you open/close car... press and hold down both the lock/unlock button down for 5 second... it will then be silent to lock/unlock door.

I've got 'em... I'm on my second set as the first set went with the WRX when I sold it. Now I've got them on my RS and am very happy with them.

I had to use them yesterday to "inform" the SUV that was about to merge into the front of my car that I was indeed there. They did the trick but I did wind up scaring some poor lady loading groceries into her car (sorry lady).

I try not to honk at pedestrians with these things. If I absolutely need to I'll do the smallest tap possible...

/\/\ +1 I like 'em alot...esp. when you get the azzhat that thinks he owns the road and doesnt need to look before he swerves into your lane.....I LOVE unleashing the fury on those bastards....it scares the crap out of them, them they look at you like "WTF was that?" The ONLY thing I dont like about them is locking/unlocking my doors late at night, because they are so loud....but like yungjin said....if you unlock the car, then hold both the lock and unlock buttons down for about 5 seconds your car will beep letting you know its gone into "silent mode."
