I'm going to mod my grill (2004 WRX) and remove the center badge. Just wondering if I should paint it the same color as my car (java black) or something else (flat black? wrinkle black?).

It would be pretty cool in java black, but you won't really be able to tell until you get up close. I'm not a big fan of the "debadged" front grille, I say, throw a pink badge on it.

If you decide to get a grill with no badge - get an aftermarket one, like the Zero Sports / Syms / Chargespeed (all 3 are slightly different) but they all come out farther to the front of the bumper.

 

If it were my car, I'd do Java or flatblack. I don't care for the crinkle, it's okay...but I really don't like pink badges, way too many people do that.
