Personal favor - help a local athlete
Dear iclubbers,
I apologize if this is the wrong place for this but I have a personal favor to ask each of you – I would like to ask that each of you cast a vote for a very talented athlete and bright individual I have had the honor of teaching and training with for almost a decade.
Her name is Haley Kong and she has been named as one of the finalists for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) High School Sullivan Award. One-third of the selection criteria is based on popular vote and I would like to ask that each one of you spend a moment today to go and cast this vote on Haley’s behalf. It would mean a lot me and I would love for her to be awarded for her hard work, determination and for overcoming the many challenges she has endured over the years – specifically having to endure me for these many years ;-)
Here’s a little more information on Haley:
She is a six-time AAU and USA Taekwondo national gold medalist in Olympic-style sparring. Haley holds a fourth-degree black belt and was a member of the national team at the Junior Pan Am and Junior World Championships. She regularly volunteers at her local hospital and homeless shelter. For her community service, she was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal and Girl Scout Gold Award. Haley has also studied classical piano for 10 years and plays the French horn and mellophone. And she has scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, has an A+ average and will be attending Stanford University this fall.
Please support Haley by going to the following website: www.sports.usatoday.com
Scroll down a little more than halfway down the first page and on the left-hand side you will see:
High School Sports - Meet the Sullivan Award Nominees
Immediately below that, you should see:
Vote for top prep athlete
Please click the dot next to Haley's name and then press Vote Now.
The voting is logged on a per device basis, so if you have multiple computers and phones at work and home with internet access, each device may vote once – although because of no flash support on the iPad, I wasn’t able to cast a vote.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who might be interested in voting. The deadline is July 4th and I sincerely Thank You in advance for your help!
