Penninsula shop to weld EGT bung on header?

Anyone have any suggestions for a shop to get this done? I need an EGT bung welded on my borla header.

I live in san mateo and work in mt. view...any shop around these areas would help me out greatly.

Thanks-

Alan

If your header is cast iron like the stock one, then you will need to go to a real welding shop. Usually most people just taps for the egt.

it's a borla, so i'll need a real welding shop to weld a bung to this thing...it's not as thick as the OEM to tap.

Recommendations along the penninsula?

i have the gruppe-s ver2 header. i just drilled and tapped it and havent had any leaks yet. if it does leak ill just weld a bead around the hole so its thicker then drill and tap it again.

MPJ did that for me for the same header. No problems.

bring it over, if it is out of the car leave it and Gordy nextdoor can do it. FYI, we have one that cracked at the weld once before due to the thin construction of the header. so now we know what to do so it will not crack.

I'm glad someone posted a thread about this! Looks like I'll give Randy a call in the morning to set something up.

Just curious - is it ok to leave the manifold on the car when tapping it? I have a Gruppe-S V2...
