Is it me or is anyone else bothered by the fat son?

That guy is ridiculously fat and reminds me of some guy that used to bully everyone back in HS, so maybe that's why I hate the guy so damn much... Everything about him bothers the hell out of me!

Also, fat does NOT equal strength! Just because someone is large (fat) does not mean they are strong.

(Back in HS someone stood up to that fat bully and beat him senseless which was one of the best moments in HS... lol Some little skinny guy just wailed on the fatty with big huge punches to his head/face. Fat boy couldn't do anything about it either. No one feared his bullying after that...

Sorry for the tangent there... That son really bugs me though... A LOT!

Okay, I watched the stuff they have on the History channel website and I'm hooked. The problem is I can't find the show anywhere now and the season 1 dvd set is 2-3 months away! Lame. I wish I could find a torrent haha

haha they should call it Pwn Stars

though seriously, who goes into a pawn shop thinking theyre going to get anything near what their stuff is worth? Why in the hell wouldnt you just sell it on the internet? Ebay and Craigslist have pretty much put all the pawn shops out of business.

If youre dumb enough to sell your stuff for half of what its worth to a pawn shop because you cant figure out Ebay or Cl than you probably deserve to lose that money, consider it a tax on being stupid.

Yeah, I don't get it, especially after an expert just gave you a free appraisal.

I understand your frustration, but it's obvious why people use pawn shops. Liquidity. If you need money TODAY, or even this week then waiting for someone to bid on your old and valuable collectors item may not be an option. (The late model yamaha YZ in the background does not fit the category of "valuable collectors item", and I'm not sure either why that customer decided to bring it in.)

A dealership trade in is a very similar transaction to a pawn shop sale, however it's much easier to find a buyer for a car than for some sort of piece of history. Personally I'm more surprised at what people trade in to dealerships, than to pawnshops.
