OT: Life's strange twists....
So, this week has been some what interesting
I got laid off on monday.... Dosen't matter, it sucked anyway. It was good money, but the expectation to work 7 days a week was getting a little tiresome to say the least.
So now I just got back from an interview....
with the sierra club....
Remember in the movie Star Trek “the search for Spock” when Kirk has just self destructed the enterprise and beamed down to the planet with Dr McCoy. While the two of them watched the burning hulk of the enterprise pass like a shooting star across the planet.
Kirk says to McCoy,
“my god what have I done?”
And Dr McCoy replies
“you did what you have to do, survive”
That’s how I feel….
So It looks like I am an environmentalist now working for calpirg.org; http://www.calpirg.org. Yep, I am now a tree hugger out begging for money to buy off the local politicians (state and fed) to support the preservation of our national and local forests here in CA. Canvassing, never thought I would do this again. But, it has the potential to allow me to pay the bills and stay off unemployment for a while.
Heh, heh, heh….It’s going to be kind of interesting showing up in my loud little hotrodded WRX.

Congrats
Wow,
Its interesting to listen and work with extremists. I hear much of that stuff as mY dad is a Green party memeber. I have to hold back sometimes as I dont necessarily argree with his points of view all the time.
I am sure you will learn some interesting stuff. I took a forestry class at HUmboldt state a few years back and really got a great eye opener on the ideas of forestry and cleacutting versus patch cutting and how in many cases clear cutting is actually better if the area is re=planted> there are pros and cons for each issue and I just have to smile when I listen to the party Loyalist spout their dogma.
Im glad you got a job so quick being unemployed is a stressfulll thing.

heh heeee... I have already done my Stage 1 install, including the stage 0 and a complete dyno tune by Shiv I was running ESP last sunday with the MBC off with no problems. I need to switch back to the stock upper IC, and I will be ready for STX as soon as I figure out what to do about rims and tires.

Jokes & Stones huh.... I haven't worked with anyone from there yet. I'm a planner for the city of Sacramento so I work with smaller firms, but I don't recall if Jones & Stokes has done any of our EIR's.

Hongkongbeef: DWR, huh? Cool! Yeah dude, we work with you guys all the time! I'm with the Environmental Education team. I think we just did a training class for you guys recently.
mad beats: I'd be surprised if we haven't worked with the city at one point or another.
Pretty cool that we got all these "environmental" guys on the board! Tree huggers unite!
