Opinions on '93 RX7 with 85k

Hey guys...so I've been in the market for a fun fast project car...and by project I don't mean engine swaps, etc...I mean something fun to work on and clean and drive etc. As an example, I've considered turboing a Miata.

I've always loved the last generation RX7....drove a new one when I was about 17 and I've loved it ever since. Today...lo and behold, parked near my house with a huge FOR SALE sign on it is a CHERRY looking 93, with 85k miles on it. It looks very well taken care of from the exterior, and appears unmodded. Asking $14k obo...kelly private party blue book being $12.3k

I know nothing about rotary reliability (except than it's probably much worse than our engines)...or how reliable in general these cars are. I just know that I want one.

So please share your RX7 experiences...maybe I'll let you drive mine if I get it.

Go for it. Just never ever ever depend on that car to be your only mode of transportation. If you drive that car hard, you WILL blow a motor eventually. It's like a law of nature. However, like you said, it's an absolutely beautiful car, and the handling is amazing. Go for it for certain.

No, but I know the area quite well, I used to do alot of onsites over there and have seen an FD over there a couple times.

Although, if you live in that area, I dont recall seeing any WRX though.

If you have the money for the maitenance and everything I HIGHLY recomend purchasing the car ASAP. If not, the VP of the Ronald McDonald house is getting sent and email regarding it.

finders fee?

And somehow the title "VP of a non-profit charity" shouldn't evoke images of a rich dude...but somehow it does
