http://www.foodfacts.info/blog/2007/...n-finally.html
Holy crap! Over 2,000 calories and 175 grams of FAT!
That single sandwich is more then a lot of people's daily value of calories alone, and waaaaay exceeds a daily fat per gram intake, and more sodium then the ocean!
I'm glad I don't eat there, Quiznos isn't very good, they tend to skimp on their toppings (meat in particular) and are a friggin rip off! $10 for a large sub, which isn't all that large and I can eat more then a single large in one sitting. I'm never going there again... Not only is the food just ok, it's a rip off, and it will kill you! I can't believe even the veggie sub has over 1,200 calories!
* Quizno's Tuna Melt has the highest calorie and fat totals of any of their sandwichs! The large Tuna Melt has over 2,000 calories and 175 grams of fat!! (The regular size has 1,420 calories and 118 grams of fat, the small 770 calories and 60 grams of fat!)
* 2 of the 5 salads Quizno's serves have 1,000 calories. The Roasted Chicken with Honey Mustard Flatbread Salad has 1120 calories and 76 grams of fat!
* Quizno's large Prime Rib Cheesesteak Sub has 1,770 calories and 116 grams of fat (that's 1030 calories from fat). It also has 2.5 grams trans fat.
* Quizno's Turkey Bacon Guacamole Sub with reduced fat Buttermilk Ranch dressing has a whopping 4530 mg of sodium! The US FDA recommends less than 2,400 mg of Sodium per day for adults. Quizno's has 31 items with over 2,400 mg of Sodium.
* Quizno's also has 34 items with over 50 grams of fat.
* Oh, and about the 'healthy' stuff... Quizno's large Veggie sub has 1,220 calories and 75 grams of fat!
Even their Veggie sub has 1,220 calories!!! I can't get over that... That's just ridiculous. Seems as all their subs are really bad for you. I bet that someone who eats their subs regularly would lose a considerable amount of weight by just eating something healthier instead, not to mention saving a bunch of money.
To that, I say SCREW YOU QUIZNOS! Your subs suck, your prices are worse, and your nutritional facts are THE WORST!
Just a friendly warning to those of you trying to eat healthy and not realizing how bad some things are for you.
They have been hiding their nutritional facts for a long time now, but were finally forced to reveal them, and you can now see why they avoided publishing them for so long!

Oh, and a comparable sized Subway sub has well under HALF of the calories and fat that quiznos has! WTF mate!? A footlong subway sub has about 900 calories with everything on it.
Most Subway subs have pretty good nutritional ratings actually, a fraction of the garbage in quiznos crap.

both subway and quiznos suck
you need to find a local sandwich shop and go there. They usually are not as healthy as subway, but taste much better and are priced about the same.

The trick to making it out of one of those sub shops without cardiac arrest is to opt out of all the mayo and ranch and other fat sauces they offer you. I set up a lean mass gain diet during my wrestling season and I had a tuna sandwich for one of the lunches (not melt) and the sandwich had over 60 grams of protein! I forget how many calories it had but I think it was around 500.

we eat too much everything, but the biggest thing we eat too much of is sugar/carbs. Esp processed carbs.
a high carb/sugar diet is what leads most to diabetes and fat retention. It isn't event all the fat we eat. fat makes you feel good, and full. Of course, you can't be eating crazy amounts of it, but having a decent amount of saturated fat, esp animal fat, is completely ok, and normal.
Think evolution, and what we have been eating for 10-20 thousand years vs the last 2 thousand years, let alone the last 100 years.
Early Humans ate natural fruits, vegetables. Hardly many carbs cause they didn't bake bread, and they ate meat. They had good bones, decent teeth (think of the skulls we find of these guys, perfect teeth a lot of the time.)
So, yes, don't eat so much, well, everything! But don't cut out everything either. It's all about balance, and moderation.
The food piramyd calls for a 2,000 calorie diet, of which 300grams of carbs should be consumed. I've cut out sugar and most fruit juice, and cut down my carb count to about 100-130 carbs a day or less. I'm losing fat naturally, not even working out all that much, and feel great.
