For those that don't like to read. The cars were donated by Pontiac and pay for the taxes. There were to be 11 cars given to people with need, but instead all 276 audience members got a new car.
BTW I don't like Oprah either, but why so harsh?

I don't watch the Oprah show... but before you go hating on this woman.. go read the articles... go read her life story..... as far as I'm concerned, she's an amazing human being and the world would be a far better place if the super rich were more like her. She wasn't handed her wealth on a silver platter, she started out as nobody and worked hard, and as always in show business, there was a little luck involved. But it's RARE to find someone so willing to give back. And while I'm sure Pontiac was in on it to some degree, I wouldn't be so quick to call it JUST advertising... or was the $130,000 she gave to a family that's raising foster kids advertising too? How about the 4 year college scholorship and makeover she gave to the homeless girl that grew up in foster homes? I suppose that was all about advertising too huh?
Can someone not do great things without some people having to ridicule tham for it?
And the audience members were chosen because their friends or family had writen to the show at one point or another about how bad they needed a new car... again... go read some of the articles about this before you go assuming negative crap.
