i know people are going to laugh, but i've been going to wal-mart for oil changes. there's a really nice / new one up in Roseville that always screws up and charges me for conventional oil even though i watch them pour mobil 1 in. oil change for $20 out the door, and tire rotation is like $4.

Inifinit service is $175 PER HOUR. But they do it RIGHT and kiss your ***.
you get what you pay for... if you're underwarranty, you also get service relative to the cash you're shelling out... especially at Carlsen it seems these days I'm outta warranty so FU SOA.

** $84 total for the oil/filter change and tire rotation/alignment**
Are you kidding me? The tire rotation is listed on the invoice as $44.95. I know the Bay Area has one of the highest costs of living but this is rediculous. Forty five dollars?? Hell...I would have done it myself in less than an hour... or gone out and bought a good floor jack to make the job faster in the future. Max it could have taken them 10-15 minutes on a lift with air tools. Where do they get off on $45?
Anyone care to comment? I don't pick the car up until later today.

I know several people who work as service writers at dealerships. Basically if you are stupid enough to go to a dealer you deserve to get ripped off.
Do it yourself or find a good independant.
