Nothing's up, cars in LA for some much needed aero rework and new body panels to fit our wheels correctly.

Who won the TA? Crawford?

Subiefest 2008 pictures by MyNikonLens

i have one word to describe subiefest 2008.. "disappointing"

i was hoping to see thousands of subies and lots of activites. there was none of that. the heat was a killer. it was 108. if it wasn't for the ice cold towels that subuaru gave out, i probably would have died from the heat. oh well.

here are my pictures. i am so sorry that i did not take many pictures. i was just too tired fro the heat to actually do anything. the only thing that i am very happy about is that i got to hang out with some of the i-club friends. even though there weren't many of the i-clubbers there, the ones there are awesome. great to see all of you guys.

Man, I had plans to attend for over a month and was supposed to do some video taping for some video that some company was putting together, however my plans were changed drastically a week before the event when I suffered a major head injury, hyper extended shoulder, and sprained wrist... Needless to say, I got pwn3d and can't drive or do anything really... basically just stuck in bed instead of being at Subiefest.

Weird that GST didn't show up though, they had a big charity thing setup specifically for Subefest that I was going to cover on video. I hope they are OK and nothing bad happened.

Damn, after reading through this thread I'm happy I didn't go! Sounds like it was a total waste of time... Hell, sounded like our old Hamilton Meets were more fun than this event. Really glad I didn't get to go, I hate driving to places 5 hours away only to be disappointed... meh.

These guys didnt have anything on mt hammy... The 2005 hammy put this place to shame.

I'm glad I went.. But they need to put a laguna seca event togther. I'd pay $20-40 bucks to get in on that one.

With the heat? I used to ride there on motorcycles. 108* day Then add leathers, back protector, boots, gloves!!! The race to turn one was not to be the 1st into the corner.. It was to cool down first!

I'm also glad I didnt see anyone go down from the heat.. Thankful for that!

no matter how much i look at the new STi, it still doesnt do anything for me yet ... and, a one day event, in the desert, just doesnt do it for me either

I was going to go as well. I decided not to go after speaking with Mike. There's nothing wrong at GST. The charity event they were going to hold were ride along for XX dollars. The cars cooling system would not take that sort of heat cycling. Once they realized they were not going to get the new radiator in time they sent the car out for preparation on the new aero and body panels. I can't wait to see it.
Instead of heading to the desert and being disappointed Ray and I went and played some golf. A Sunday well served.

Hey Nikon, I parked next to you yesterday morning. I was hoping to run into you but that never happened. LOL I moved my car shortly afterwards.

Yeah I ended up rolling out there. Left the bay Friday around 2 and stayed over night in Mojave, that was interesting.... I was like the only black man in the bar singing with these folks and getting my drink on.. it was fun though...

Anyhow, I rolled out Sat morning to Subifest with my homie who came with me. We arrived around 10am and quickly secured a camp location. I almost passed out do to the heat, thank god for that budwiser tower with AC! Being this was my first Subiefest I was not too sure what to expect. Overall I had fun but there were moments where I found myself a tad bored. That mixed in with the heat and it was time to watch a movie in my car with the AC on blast. LOL

There were a lot of people early in the day but it faded pretty quickly. Next time I'll actually drive. I think that would better.

Anyhow, i thought the camping was fun. The lil "subie rave" was interesting. I was hoping that would pop off for a lot longer but it closed down a bit too early for me. No matter though, back to the camp location and I was back in party mode.

BTW anyone know what was up with the Cops?? I met some cats from the OX who made a mad dash down to our camp area (by the go kart track entrance). Just so happened I met these dudes hours before. Anyhow they mentioned something about hella cops were rolling down to the track. Minutes later they sure came out!

I was thinking of heading out but decided that I had a list of a good 4 things to do on sunday... I ended up blowing those off for golf. Haaaaa.

Looks like it was a lot of fun. I would have loved to put some laps in. Some really nice legacy wagons and I LOVE that red forester XTS. I have pictures of that car on my computer. Saw it on one of the forester forums.

Looks like crawford is playing with some new aero stuff on their car.

Hopefully the aero bits that they added to their car will act as a wind shute, like wind and kite surfers... Since they don't have a working engine in their car 89% of the time, I figured that the wind could help them cross the finish line since their engines can't seem to do the job for them.

The Unicorn is a LIC WRX swap, now owned by a customer of mine.
I just got the car running Friday night after throwing in a rebuild motor & finishing up installing a 6MT into it.
