Dodgers should go after Matt Williams as manager. He's available and would be their best choice ;)
Also QFT! :pointlaugh: -Brian |
Any moves for SF in the off season?
|
Pitching pitching pitching. Starter(s) and relief. Other than that I think they're fairly set as far as the defense goes. Hoping they can get at least one strong arm to go along with Madbum. I'm hoping they keep Aoki too. He was a nice fit and a strong bat in the lineup. I think they've got an option on him.

Nah, Giants never make any splashy moves. It's always the "we tried very hard to get so and so, but it didn't work out." The only thing so far is whether to pick up Aoki's option (which they should) and re-sign Leake. They'll probably look for another starting pitcher, but it won't be the high priced guys (the we tried excuse they give every year). Lincecum is most likely gone, unless he accepts a major downgrade in pay (Giants are still somewhat interested in him for whatever reason). Vogelsong is most likely gone as well. Hudson's retiring. That's pretty much it |

-Brian
Man, I don't even know why this isn't a no brainer. Dude was batting .310+ for most of the first half before he got beaned by either the Dodgers or some other team in the foot and in the head. Got on base often to set Posey up for RBIs. Pagan shouldn't be leading off. But I'm guessing he's demanding it so Bochy won't move him down in the order (he had a brief stint batting 8th or something, but it was for a very short while). I rather have Aoki out there than Byrd. Byrd had some nice hits/RBIs when he first got here, but Pence should be back and I think Aoki's more consistent with both offense and defense. |
Sounds like you are in the market for Greinke

Giants won't do it. They've bombed almost every time whenever they give out high priced contracts to starting pitching (Lincecum, Cain, Zito, etc). They have the money, but they just won't do it, unless they are home grown. |
pfffft welcome to the dodgers.
Who is that bum you pawned off on us? |

Home grown... you'd have to sac a lot of seasons like the Mets and Astros to get good prospects and then grow them for 5 years.
