Ugh look, win lose or draw, we got to end the games earlier lol

Giants won't make the playoffs. Their starting pitching has been horrible. Seems as if every game, they start down at least 1 run, because the starting pitcher almost always giving up 1 or more runs in the 1st inning. Pretty much playing from behind every game.

Then add up all the injuries. But regardless, starting pitching has been the Giant's weakest link all season. No starter is consistent except Bumgarner.

It'll be an uphill battle, that's for sure. Still holding on for some September magic though!

Our starting pitching is spectacular............... but they have to last 8 or 9 innings or we lose

Great pitching by Kershaw. Though you have to wonder if that was wise letting him throw that many pitches so late in the season. Might come back to bite them in the playoffs ;)

Giants are done. Lincecum is done as a Giant. He's going to need surgery. No way to get him on the mound for a sendoff. Posey needs a rest from catching. Might as well give Panik and Pence the rest of the season off to heal up.

stupidchicken03 09-03-2015 09:50 AM

Still got what, 29 games left this season

F the play offs, lets talk his career. They used up Fernando V. the same way and they used up Orel H. the same way. He has a chance to be the best in a generation, dont F him up. 138 pitches is 45 too many for me. Same with greinkie, they should have sat him down at 95 pitches. He is done after 90-95. 6 hard hits by the giants in a row.

Mattingly needs to go and we need a decent bullpen, not a good one, just decent.

^ Lincecum was overworked in his prime, now he's pretty much done as a pitcher. Maybe he'll be back as a relief pitcher, but it'll be for another team. Bochy regularly let him throw 110+ pitches per start back in the day.

Bumgarner's also being overworked, but he's built bigger and tougher than Lincecum, so he might be able to last longer than Lincecum career-wise.

If the Dodgers don't re-sign Greinke, they shouldn't care whether they wear his arm out. Greinke will go to the highest bidder, which might actually be the Dodgers ;) So if they want to pay this guy top $$$$$, then yes, start saving his arm. At this point, they've pretty much locked up a playoff spot. And with how the Giants are playing these days, they don't have much to worry about.

I would say give it one more week. If the Giants can get within 3-4 games of the Dodgers by the time the Dodger's series rolls by they might be able to steal the west. August was gonna be a tough month and it was, but Sept. are definitely beatable teams.

I would hope we get him again.................. but the new GM is into money ball, but has a huge bank account at his expense.

Time to Panik
Time to Panik
lol

But in all seriousness, season's already over. Too little too late. Too many injuries to overcome to Aoki, Panik, Pence. Posey couldn't do it all by himself, when there's nobody on base to score when he's up.

With all the injuries that has happened this year, I'm ok with the Giants not making the playoffs. Plus it allows Bumgarner to rest his arm and not have it overused from an extended season like last year. Don't need back to back years of 260+ innings and burn out his arm.

stupidchicken03 09-09-2015 10:46 AM

its not over..

but it is an odd numbered year so.. theres that too

If the Giants make the playoffs then I'd be a happy camper and if they don't then I won't be losing too much sleep with all the injuries that we were dealt with.
