Great offense so far, with our calculations that means we'll be winning a whole lot more games! As for Zito it's about time some haters get to STFU, dude still has somethin to prove and he can play. So much hatin' on him they're just die hard hater fans. But he can get some wins!

what a game today! that was AWESOME! i love our new offense and it seems that it has improved drastically from last year. Melky seems like a perfect fit so far... imo, he is like a lighter hitting Panda (switch hitter who can hit for average and has some pop). i just hope belt starts to figure it out and doesnt get demoted back down to AAA.

I know it's still way too early to say this, but maybe it was a good thing Lincecum only signed for 2 years....
but either way, Giants starting pitching and defense playing lousy right now, with the exception of Zito at the moment.

BUT It's nice to see we have a bit of offense. Last year after the other team scored 3 or 4 its was pretty much game over.
got a good rally going right now!

But saying that... the giants look half way decent to me, they just need to put it together and in my opinion they did NOTHING to improve in comparison to their competition and ownership is 100% to blame. The giants stand no chance in hell in getting back to the series with the team on the field right now. None. They'll be lucky to make the post season this year and they most certainly will not make it out of the first round.
They missed out on some huge opportunities to get some power on the field.
Defense is half way decent when huff isn't in left (dude's arm is weak as hell). Pitching is still solid. It's no philly but it's as good or better than most... if zito can stay sharp they could be real good.
The hole for me is power. There is no one to fear in the line up. There are guys that can hit but we don't have a scary .350 type guy and certainly don't have a scary 40/50 hr guy. So teams can afford to challenge everyone in the line up most of the time. It's a huge advantage for teams with decent pitching.
I love the guys we have but I think we should have moved on a power hitter.

Wow, what a 4th inning. Giants went from a pitching heavy team to a team that can put up some runs from this season compared to last season. Scary! Wished the pitching was there though.. the starters haven't looked good except for Zito so far.

Seems to me that they have a lot of hitters but I've been surprised by the power. I just don't see it keeping up. But who knows... I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.
I'd like to see a team that can put up more than 2 runs a game every game. Last year was sad. LOL!

It's way to early to tell but he does seem to have slipped since they ****ed with his delivery. I still don't understand why people do that crap. Same way they ruined Zito. If what a guy is doing is working... let them do it. Make them sign an outside injury clause.

With regards to a power hitter, there's no way the Giants could afford a Pujols or Fielder, or even a Beltran. There's just too much money tied up in the starting pitchers. Zito, Lincecum, and Cain already combine for something like $55 million (not counting incentives) in salary this year. Add the rest of the lineup (plus the remaining money owed to Aaron Rowand) and you're already near the Giants max budget (set by the Giants owners) at $130 million.
