I'd much rather see the raiders go younger and get a completely new team of coaches in there. Let them work it out and get it going. Flip flopping old coaches isn't going to work for them.

I just don't understand why the NFL just keeps recycling coaches. They get canned for sucking at one team and another team thinks they can win with them. No other job in the world is that true.

He sucks. I would loose what little faith I have in the organization if they hired Norv. Norv sucks. Period.
Werd! I kept hearing on Philly radio, idiots calling in saying that they should get Norv. Screw that! The radio hosts would blast them though, so that was at least entertaining.

I'm by all the Norv talk. Being that he got hired as CLE's new OC a few weeks ago, he's no longer available, right?

And I agree w/ the new blood idea. Replacing old & busted w/ old & busted is just plain insane.

Good luck to y'all as the team rebuilds.

Norv is a good OC, you guys just remember him as a bad head coach.

Raiders picked up an OC last week. All of the Raiders staff positions have been filled. Now it's time to get all of their players up to spec.

If Reggie goes through with the Flynn trade and cuts Carson I will have no choice but to believe he's tanking the season...

Carson $13 million.
Flynn $5.3 million + $9.5 million of carson's dead money

I mean, it's a wash! Why even do this?! Just pay Carson!!!!

Cuz Carson isn't the future. And the raiders need to continue to clean house. The amount of debt al Davis allowed was so bad.

IMO I even agree that they can't kee DMF. Dudes injured and never finishes. He needs to go to a team where he isn't in all the time. Dynamic and explosive and a gem when he's in the game. But terrible because u can't rely to last 16 games nor do u have a backup.

Latest rumor is Cards are working on trade for Palmer. That would make much more sense if the Raiders are trying to land Flynn.

If Darren McFadden is cut, I could see him going to the Cowboys where they would then get rid of Felix Jones and get the player they originally wanted with McFadden.

I heard the negotiations to trade Palmer away to the Cards aren't doing to well. I'd think getting even another pick or two at the 4th fourth round and below will help with rebuilding efforts.

Raiders get Flynn for 2 draft picks and are about to send Palmer to Arizona for 1 draft pick.

^ sigh, lol. How does that even help? Raiders need as many draft picks, who cares if they're terribad draft picks. They need an overhaul, big time.

I'm actually a fan of Palmer and personally think that given the situation the Raiders are in right now that this is the best move they have made so far.

If they're smart, they will not waste that first round pick on a QB. They'd be wise to use both picks on defense.

I'm actually happy to hear that move... as for trading AWAY ANY picks right now... I think that's stupid. They should be using all of the picks to either GET more picks in combo of dumping high salary players or to get players. The next 2 years at a minimum are going to be rebuilding and building the team they want. This is do or die for EVERYONE in the organization right now. They screw up and they're all gone in 2 years.

And I think Palmer can come in and make in immediate difference for the cards and get a chance to win. Oakland isn't gonna win much until Manning retires.

It's gonna be tough to get a first rounder for Palmer. He's good and he played pretty well last year. But he's getting up there in years and is really just a stop gap for 1-3 years so Arizona can find someone in the draft and develop them.

But look at what Alex fetched. Who knows. If Oakland can get a 1st for him then it's a good trade. Even a high second with a pick that'll depend on how many games he plays and how well he does. If they take a lower pick but set up a conditional that's like... he throws 4000 yards or gets you to the playoffs we get next years 1st... that be good too.

Definitely agree on the upside of obtaining draft picks. I heard it was a 2014 pick and a conditional pick in 2015 for Flynn. Low rounders though, so I don't think the front office was too slighted. As for the defensive picks, I agree. But I also agree that the Raiders CAN and should move down in the draft for multiple picks. It's not entirely possible to think that the 49ers can swap with the Raiders for Tavon Austin, given the 49ers have a **** load of picks to trade away. This would benefit both teams. Raiders do hit some stars, but I believe they get more value for more bodies with decent talent, rather than 1 with great talent. In addition, eventually the "super great" talent will need to be paid.
