We ended up just eating at Joshuya's Sushi in Berkeley, good food, really bad service.

Definitely one of my all time favorites. Their sashimi slices are FAT and FRESH.

I haven't seen anything regarding hot pot, so I'll chime in:

Somewhat pricey, and can get VERY crowded, but they are hands down the best. Their soup bases are what make them great, and I have never had hot pot as good as I have here. Fantastic soup base.
