Zito stunk it up, but so did the Giants hitting. Kruk and Kuip were saying how Sandoval was blasting HRs "with Barry Bonds-like power" during BP and yet he couldn't get 1 hit in the game. Majority of the Giants hitters stunk it up in a small and lively ballpark. I'll give credit to Rowand for that pinch hit HR though.
On other news/rumors, looks like the Giants are the frontrunners in the Carlos Beltran sweepstakes. Mets are playing the Reds at their homefield right now, while Giants are playing the Reds next. Beltran might just stay in Cincinnati to join the team if the deal gets done.
If the Giants do acquire him, it's going to be interesting how they will play him. He can play center field, but he prefers to play in right field. CF might not be the best, considering his injury history. Shierholtz will probably have to be moved to LF, or CF if Beltran wants RF. Then that becomes an issue for playing time with Ross, Torres, or the other outfielders.

I don't think he will be the odd man out. He's our 2nd best hitter after Sandoval. If anything, Torres or Ross will be watching more games from the dugout.
