Yeah, still going. Never heard back from Jacob though.

Incase the one other person that contributes to this thread is wondering, we're hitting up Rock Bottom tonight. They are tapping a sort of belgian pale ale. Between 6:00 and 7:00 pints of it are $1.25, although I/we wont be there closer to 7:00.

Yeah, we'll end up eating there. Jennie gets off work around 6 tonight, so we'll actually be there maybe 6:30? I'll let you know when we leave her place, my plan was to park at your place and walk.

Sorry man - been slammed with work and everything else is crazy too. Want a Suby swap project? Haaaaaa.

I should give you that cask too, no way no how will I be able to do anything with it.

I haven't even really had any beer since I came back from Seattle. Jaded I guess. Haha.. But either way, for me - getting to Rock Bottom on a weekday night by 6pm would be easier than say flapping my arms and flying off somewhere. I would have to take the day off to do it. Then, once I arrived, I wouldn't be able to have any beer due to the fact that I drove there so.... Sort of off the table for me any more. I did have loads of Rock Bottom IPA and Pale in Seattle though! Woo!!

By the way - Seattle kicks our *** so bad as far as beer selection and beer selection in stores. Can't believe I was in 2 places that have Pliny the Elder on tap and I cannot even find it in the bottle here. One place had 3 kegs of Pliny the Younger and I, living in CA, have never tasted the stuff. RRBC can blow me.

Going up to Speakeasy tomorrow night though. Only problem is my Justy is making "expensive noises" and I cannot physically fit my Camaro in my friend's garage (he said I can crash there) so... Hahaha... Stupid big car.

No worries man, I figured you were bogged down with work. We'll have to get a beer night organized when I get back from Scotland.

Nice. I may take you up on that then. Instead I traded my wife for her Fit today. The only cool part was listening to my car drive off. Ha!

I don't think I would go so far as to say Pliny = Coors. I only saw it on tap at 2 places, and one of them had it listed for $7.50/glass.

So the gf and I checked out the Thirsty Bear last night to try their new Locavore Pale Ale. FYI, a locavore is someone who eats locally grown foods - this beer is made with Malted barley (?) from Dixon, CA, and hops from Clear Lake, CA. For a pale ale, it was really mellow, and we thought the local hops definitely added a certain crispness to the beer that is usually more muted in other brews. On the nose, you get a huge hit of hops. On the palate, I got a lot of honey, some citrus, and only a very slight bitter note to balance things out. We overheard one of the brewmasters talking some guy about the beer, and said that as far as their beers go, their new Locavore beer is about as simple as it gets, i.e. 1 kind of hops, 1 kind of barley - while you might be able tell that the beer was lacking "complexity," it certainly did not detract from its overall enjoyability. Overall, great beer - definitely worth checking out.
