Didn't make it up last night - I ended up grilling a tri-tip and some potatoes for some friends, and slipping in a big puddle of sloppy drunk. Incidentally, I may have found a new favorite beer: Sierra Nevada ESB. This stuff is soooo tasty.

Oh man, the local had their taps futzed and my Racer 5 was some amber ale. So happiness was found in a cheesesteak and a pitcher of "Jersey Devil" aka "Silicon Blonde" at Jersey Joe's after a bike ride so I guess you could say yesterday was all about beer, bikes and meat. I want to bring my bike up and do the bike/beer thing in SF again when it gets nice. Who's comin with me... Haha.

Has anyone else tried Bourbon County Brand Stout from the Goose Island Beer Company? Aged in bourbon barrels. 13% ABV. A serious brew.

I'm not catholic either, so you know what I gave up for lent? Participating in "religious events" because it's the cool thing to do even if you don't follow a word of the religion otherwise.

The good news is that I only gave that up for lent, so I'll be fine for Christmas.

Got the Torpedo Extra IPA. It's good but nothing special. I think Bigfoot is my favorite beer at the moment, and not just because of the high ABV

everyone else I've told about it has said it's "horrid." I guess it just takes a real beer enthusiast to appreciate it!

i love that hoppy, barley taste to beers. i don't really like a beer that goes down like water. i want some kick in the taste, and this Bigfoot does have a nice kick. definitely not a beer to be gulping down.

My buddy came over and helped me bottle my ale today - got 23 22 oz bottles of a very hoppy pale ale. I get to taste it carbonated on 4.5.09. We tasted some of the leftover and daaaaaaaaaaaaamn it 's gonna be good IMHO. Reminds me of that Sierra Harvest stuff though I would never begin to compare my beermaking to Sierra!!!

I picked up a bottle of Imperial Raccoon Red whilst at RockBottom yesterday filling 3x growlers. I drank a whole growler of the Pale it's so good... Suffering today. MMmmmmMMmmmMmmmMmm beeeeeer.
