The Official: All Things Phone Thread

I ended up getting an iPhone 6. I know people have a lot of strong opinions on this stuff and not all of it is purely logical. I have had this for almost 2 weeks and I think it's going to work out great for me. It's not like there are "mind blowing" improvements, but there are a lot of things that are a little bit nicer or sort of like the only thing that was needed. I feel like they still could really have an LED indicator so I can see that I have a new important message from across the room, but that's really it for me. The biggest things I like better are that the screen/desktop combines everything I liked about my Nokia (bright/vivid/fast/responsive) in an iPhone that I am used to. Next up is the improved plug - though I may miss the true line out for headphone use with an amplifier (I could use a "line-out-dock" plug on my 4S for true line-level line out and great sound, no more with the new plug). The camera does indeed work a little better in the same way that an excellent hamburger will still never be a steak.
I really did make an effort and went to the AT&T store and played with a bunch of the Android devices. It was odd but all of them were unplugged with dead batteries. I plugged them all in and went for a walk. Came back and most of them were usable. Again I have no need/desire to customize my phone, so I guess a lot of it is lost on me. I noticed some of the glitchy/unpredictable behavior on some of these new devices in the store - that reminded me of my experience with my LG I had, and my Samsung Galaxy tab that I have given to my daughter. I was a little "meh" about having a new iPhone, but now that I have used it for a while, it's pretty nice.

You being happy with it is what it really all comes down to.
There's a supposed "hack" or what around out right now for those with VZ unlimited data (me) to still be able to upgrade without losing it. I might look more into it and get the new iphone, only to flip it for a couple hundred more because I know itll sell haha.

Got some invites for the HTC Oneplus One, let me know if you are actually going to buy it. The 64GB outright is $350. No increase in monthly payments to some provider. Has good specs.

So my wife just dropped her Moto X in a pot of water on Friday night. Recovery is not looking good at this point
Any AT&T employees on here (or anyone that knows about the most recent deals) that can make a recommendation for a phone that won't break the bank? She's not due for an upgrade discount for a while so I'm really looking for maybe a Galaxy S4 or something that may have some deep discounts without the upgrade discount. Any suggestions?
