I wanted Willis, but I think for him it probably hurts to know they don't want to cut a deal with him, and he doesn't want to play anywhere else.
Too bad, we REALLY need a smart MLB.

Gagan: If you're MJ in that gif, I'm the dude over his left shoulder. Unlike you, bruddah, I am not amused at all by what's been transpiring from the front office since last season really.
Although I love me some Patrick Willis, I think they'll be OK with the way Borland showed that he can play at such a high level. But possibly losing Cowboy to retirement would be a significant blow. The double-teaming that he often requires frees up the other guys to get to the QB more easily.

Mike Iupati plans to leave 49ers for Arizona Cardinals - NFL.com
"Former San Francisco 49ers guard Mike Iupati is staying in the NFC West.
Iupati plans to sign with the Arizona Cardinals, NFL Media's Albert Breer reports, via a source involved in the negotiations.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection by age 27, Iupati ranks No. 4 on Around The NFL's top 101 free agents. He was reported to be drawing interest from the Jets, Bills, Raiders, Chargers, Vikings and Redskins as well as the Cardinals.
Although merely average in pass protection, Iupati has been one of the NFL's premier run blockers throughout his five-year career.
An offensive line that was among the league's most ineffective in 2012 and 2013 now has the makings of an intriguing group if Jonathan Cooper pans out. General manager Steve Keim recently stated the team still has "huge expectations" after the 2013 first-round draft pick began showing his "natural bend, his athleticism, his speed" late in the 2014 season.
The Cardinals have expressed reservations about Andre Ellington's durability and have been mentioned as a possible trade candidate for Adrian Peterson.
The addition of Iupati is another sign that Keim and coach Bruce Arians plan to overhaul the rushing attack this offseason."

Frank Gore pulls out of Eagles deal - NFL.com
"NFL Media reported that the Philadelphia Eagles were closing in a deal for Frank Gore on Sunday. Other outlets were more aggressive, saying Gore to Philly was all but done.
Gore has other ideas. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport broke the news Monday that Gore has "pulled out" of the pending deal with the Eagles.
"I am told to keep an eye on the Indianapolis Colts. They are now the team to watch for the coveted services of Frank Gore," Rapoport reported on NFL Network's "NFL Total Access."
Gore told friends on Sunday that he was planning to sign with Philadelphia. But this is the danger of reaching any "agreement" before Tuesday's start to free agency. Players can always change their mind if they hear a new sales pitch with more dollar signs attached.
Indianapolis has connections to Gore with former Miami assistants Chuck Pagano and Rob Chudzinksi on the staff. More importantly, they have a huge need for a reliable power running back. Gore can excel on all three downs, which is why Philadelphia wanted him to round out their backfield.
No deal is "final" until Tuesday, as Philadelphia just learned. So we'll hold off on any more analysis about Gore jumping to the Colts. Perhaps another team still has time to change his mind again."
