I think the 49ers would be stupid to sign Manning right now. They put together a solid season last year and they have some money to help solidify some weak spots.... like that stupid returner and WR. The team is behind Alex and it's early in the system.
You bring in Manning you need to bring in an entirely new system and the niners do NOT have the receivers to take advantage of him. Signing Manning would be the stupidest move the niners have made since Jim Druckenmiller.

What good is it going to be if we pick up Manning and still have Ginn as our only deep threat and VD as our only semi consistent reciever? Sorry but it doesnt make any sense whatsoever to go after Manning for the 0-2 years he has left in him. The guy is going to be in a wheelchair after another good hit and our line cant protect him every game.
Also how do we have enough money to go after Wallace when we still have FAs to resign and isnt Desean franchise tagged?

Exactly OMA, we're a superbowl contender already. I think our best option is to let Alex continue to take us far and possibly even win a ring while Colin sits back and learns for a couple of years. Focus should be on picking up more recievers and beefing up the offensive line so when Colin finally takes over, we win a ring every year!
Can you imagine the Niners having the same D, same running game and having a deep throwing game?

I don't know that we would want to trade a pick to go after Wallace or D Jax when we could potentially go after someone like V Jax or Laurent Robinson as both are Free Agents.
We'll see though, looking forward to seeing what happens with Free Agency & the upcoming draft.
The biggest thing I want to see though is "Niners resign Carlos Rogers". I seriously do not want to see us let him go after we spent forever looking for a CB with his talent.

With the Vikings releasing Steve Hutchinson I wonder if the Niners will inquire about him?

We'll see how he does, he can be a baller (When he wants to play). Wondering how much we are paying him for the 1-year deal?

Also, we'll see if he is going to be running more than just the "Go" routes.
