I think my comments have been taken the wrong way.
What I mean is that Jon built this event from scratch, and that it's his baby. His organization of this event built up and led to its success, and got the attention of people from all over. His "finale" event is even being submitted to Subiesport magazine, and we hope it's published to gain even more attention in the Subaru community. Everyone who has posted in here saying, "Oh, I'll make it to the next one" just kind of irritates me a bit, as it looks to me like they are minimizing the hard work and achievement that Jon had with this event. It looks like they didn't understand that this was the last one for Jon...maybe I'm just reading it wrong, but to me, this particular chapter is closed in the book...
...and we know this event will go on, but it will begin a new chapter in a very successful event, and mark the coming of a new organizer. I wish the new organizer, whoever he or she is, great success in this event, and will be willing to help out in whatever way I can, be it continuing to supply the BBQ stuff, or cooking, etc.
Am I saying that there won't be another BBQ?? No. I am, however saying that whoever picks up the event idea and runs with it will probably bring their own twist, their own ideas, and their own flavor to the event.

Why does it irritate you Roo? No one is saying Jon's aren't the ****, but it would be disrespectful to Jon of us at the FFBN Meet to not continue to have OUR BBQ and Drives at HIS standard and the way he would do it if he were still here.
We ALL contribute, however Jon has been the one who brings it together, he naturally takes up the leader's role and he is great at it.
Thanks, you're right and hopefully you'll still come to the next one too
And, of course, "That's what makes a Subaru, a Subaru."
You're totally right about the book going on and this chapter being closed. Help us write the next chapter, we'd love to have you help like you have with Jon
