Sorry this has taken so long for me to post.
I want to start out by saying thank you, thank you to all the people that made this happen. There is no way in hell that I could have done this alone by myself. I would be a fool to think I could.
A thanks goes out to the group leaders. There is no way you can have a 55ish (think I might have missed one or two) car drive as one group. It has to be broken up for it to be fun for all. I put a lot on these group leaders more then what most of you know. I made them all drive the course with me at least once before the BBq, most have driven it now 8 or 9 times. Plus they have responsibility of the entire group they are leading. It really is asking a lot.
Steven's father (Greg, whoops) and Adam, a big thanks goes out to them. Without them we would not have had the BBq there at the park. For those of you that have came before we had to cook on one of them small grills and it just did not work out. That was a huge improvement from the last time that we did this.
To Roo (pleiad7 as well) & Chris who helped out more then what people realize. Chris and I picked up all of the food the morning of and then Darryll was kind enough to lend us his car to store it all in. What me and Chris did not pick up Roo brought with him. Roo I think has been at every single drive and BBq, he might have missed the first one but has made every one since then.
Steven, he went ahead and took pictures of every one, plus helped out on the grill. Some of you might ask well where are they. He took a lot, think I heard like in the 400 range so it might take a while for him to get them up on here.
And finally, to every one that made it out. Without you guys and gals it would not be worth it. It seemed that every one had a good time and got along really well. The smiles that you have after the drive or after seeing this many Subarus in one spot is why I do this. It is for that reason and that reason alone, I can tell you right now it’s not for the money. For some of you this is/was your first Subaru drive or get together and I hope that you had a descent enough time that you want to do it again. If you did not please tell me how I could improve it. Don't say less traffic on the roads, cant control that... wish I could but can't. I will not be the next person to organize another drive here but some one will and they will need your input. That’s how we came up with the BBq pit idea, one of the drivers from the last one suggested it and that's how it came to be.
I can't tell you how hard it is going to be to leave all of this. I really enjoy doing this. Yeah I might be able to do it in Ohio but it will never be the same. I have a lot of great friends and good memories with the Subaru community and you all will be missed greatly. This is where it all started and I will never forget any of it.
Thank you,
Jon "firm it up" Webber
^just for you steven
