Although I'd LOVE for the USA to win the whole thing (which I don't think is going to happen, but with this world cup, you never know!), I'm sort of rooting for Ghana to win it all, even when they face us, the USA.
My reasoning:
We have the best athletes in the world and have so many titles in so many different various sports, but Ghana doesn't have anything... Soccer is the only thing they really have (in terms of good sports/leagues/teams/etc). Ghana is a big time underdog, even with the whole "Africa united" thing (where they are running an "Africa united" ad campaign urging all fans to cheer on the remaining African team as if it were their own. Ghana is the last remaining African team with a chance of winning the cup and everyone will be cheering for them), they are still a big time underdog. Ghana is a small country yet they've managed to make some sound, a sound that everyone on earth has heard... I really hope that they take it all.
Otherwise, USA! I couldn't believe how robbed the USA were with those bad calls! Lucky for us, we had that last min goal... Without that goal we should have still been up at 2-0 AT LEAST, and that last goal making it 3-0... It could have been 4-0 if that one strike hadn't been botched (can't remember who shot that ball). All in all, the USA was the better team, but I still haven't been super impressed by the USA. This world cup has been a strange one so I haven't lost hope in the USA advancing to the Semi-finals, you never know. Can you imagine if the USA and England play again? LOL!

they can fight only in the finals.
korea and usa both got the best draw possible, avoiding all the big power houses like brazil, argentina, portugal, etc.
with that said, its actually very hard to predict who will get to our semi final.
ghana, uruguay, usa, korea...probably Uruguay but hopefully Korea can make history again

PS: What ever happened with that horrible Ref from the USA vs Slovenia game? Last I heard (from this thread) he was under review by FIFA and they were thinking about firing him... Did he get fired? He should have been, AT LEAST. Worst calls ever! Lucky for him the USA still made it through to the final 16, if they hadn't, and because of those bad calls (not including today's bad calls) that guy would be hated soooooo much more. What country was he from anyway? I hope whoever paid him paid him A LOT because he pissed his career away in making those calls.
Soccer is crooked as hell... For all we know, England could have been playing the way they have because they were told to do so... It's all about money and you can pay someone to do just about anything, lot of that crap in Soccer, especially in league/club soccer. I hate that crap, they should have the instant replay ref where they can recall any bad play/call by reviewing it via instant replay, it would get rid of a lot of problems.

i understand the frustration with bad calls and such but to say a certain team paid their way up is kind of a slap in the face to FIFA or to soccer in general because the system of favoring human error over replays is how FIFA works.
ppl said south korea paid the refs to get to the semi-final in 2002. sure its possible, maybe the government had a role in the outcome for diplomatic and/or economic gains but i don't think the players would appreciate such comment after working their *** off.
i like to think of those "bad calls" as "luck", because it'll be a bad call for one team and a good call for another even though its incorrect. human(referee) error is part of the game.
what other sport is overwhelmed with death threats? lol

hahaha, you're taking that a little too seriously man. Don't take what I said with a grain of salt, I wasn't being serious and was sort of just speculating based off of how unpredictable the cup has been with blatant bad calls, players doing things on purpose to get red cards, just weird stuff.
I know the world cup is really strict with that sort of thing, but there's a lot of corruption in league soccer...

as for the ref from USA vs Slovenia
http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/wor...ree061910.html
"given Coulibaly’s rating, there is virtually no chance he will get to referee any more matches in the tournament."
