Actually, what would be worse is if he had to sit in the same room with VRT MBasile... Now that would be a real punishment.

Seriously, I love watching the world cup but this has got to be my (and probably a lot of other non-soccer guys) no.1 gripe with the game in general, and and makes me want to change the channel. Are soccer players taught at a young age to just fall to the ground and hold any goddamn body part immediately upon contact in order to draw penalties even if it's not even remotely possible that that part is hurt? In a real tough sport like football or hockey this would be a penalty and the player would be laughed off the field. And I know all the soccer apologist are quick to point out that this is part of the "strategy" and is an institutionalized part of the sport, if you dont do it the other guys will. But as an american raised on (our) football its awkward and embarrassing to watch grown men act like little b****es for 90 minutes and still take this sport seriously

i say give red cards to divers/simulators whatever you wanna call them, after the game and after reviewing replays.

They think they are protecting the refs decisions but the refs all want instant replays too so they are protected from the consequences of a career ruining bad call, and if the players would know they will get penalized for their bull**** diving they wont be so inclined to do it either, BAH the whole thing just makes my head spin, Im going to watch some UFC to get my head on straight.

LMAO, so awesome!
The "acting" involved with soccer is my biggest peeve... It drives me nucking futs!!! I'm glad that they are REALLY strict about it in this world cup... Any "acting" that is caught with result in a yellow card, which is the way it should be.
Now if we only had "instant replay" for soccer... No idea why they haven't started using that technology for the game... It's really unfair to be robbed of a goal or opportunity for a goal because a ref makes a bad call. That variant should be cut out of the equation and it should be modernized so that the ref can be called out on his/her bad decision based on the instant replay. I know it would require some rule changes with stoppage time and stuff but they could literally STOP the clock when they are doing the instant replay stuff so that no extra time is added to the game and instead the game is paused for 2 mins or whatever.
Don't you think that would be better? Just thinking about the USA game from a couple of days ago gets me all irritated because of how bad the call was when the USA was robbed of their goal which would have been the game winning goal. Blah!

I kinda want a North Korean jersey to wear as a joke... lol. Hmmmm, might make a good gift to give to my soccer friends (like Moike, lol). North Korean jersey with "Warfield" written on back... HA!
