Going into the opening series of matches, it looks like Rio Ferdinand will be off the English side due to an injury, but Team USA aslso suffered a setback, with Jozy Altidore spraining his ankle. I'm hoping this might even out the odds for us yanks a little bit, but there still remains the question of the Us back line.
EDIT: anyone gonna do the World Cup brackets from espn.com?

A crappy day for a lot of teams/nations: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/05/sp.../05drogba.html
- Andrea Pirlo is out of the WC opener against Paraguay, but who cares about the Italians, amirightguize?
- Rio Ferdinand is done in this WC, possibly his last.
- Didier Drogba is out as well with a broken arm, this was his last @ age 32. That REALLY sucks, as the Ivory Coast are fielding a kick *** squad this year and desperately needed him to counter Brazil and Portugal in Group G.

Yeah, looks like these friendlies are taking their tolls on some teams. Drogba,Ferdinand,....
I'm still banking on the USA on day 1. Altidore shouldn't be in tomorrow's line-up. They should save him for the WC.
If anyone is up at 5:30 tomorrow, ESPN2 for the US friendly.
Side Note: What's up with Marcus Tanaka and all his own goals for Japan? LOL!

Yeah, I agree with saving Altidore; Dempsey in the midfield and him upfront is a decent combo and we'll need that come 6/12. And Tanaka has been ruining things for everyone. Own goals, then he breaks Drogba's arm! WTF!

hell yes!
with all the attention between south and north right now, i'll pray for south korea vs north korea final lol
i think agentina or spain could go all the way just because of the talents this have...i wonder how maradona will do, so far i hear his not a very smart coach.
