plugs arcing to block and OBD code ?
NEW PROBLEM #4 plug arcing to block see last post
Anyone know what P1505 code means for subaru?
So our OBS has been throwing a cel mostly after we have taken it on dirt roads. We clean the filter and unplug the battery and the code goes away.
I think because we are using a K&N and have the hood vents open the oil and dirt makes mud
SO I finally got an OBD II and the code it pulled was P1505
These were the only references I could find
P1505 Idle Speed Control Valve Closing Solenoid Control Circuit Electrial (BMW)
P1505 Idle Air Control At Adaptive Clip (Mazda)
P1505 Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Air Leakage (Honda)
We replaced the PCV valve 3 months ago so I don't think its that.
Thanks
John

Found these while trying to figure out how to replace the valve

Rough Idle and CEL after unhooking battery.

This explains the rough idle would it also cause hesitation under hard acceleration?

Wtf?
So I open the hood while the car is running to clean the Idle Speed Control Valve
and I see the #4 plug is arcing to the block causing the hesitation.
The connector is all coroded. The others look fine. I'm cleaning it with sand paper now.
There is one blue screw next to the plug that it was arcing to, should this be a ground?
Anyone suggest a brand of wires and place to get them?

hopefully its fixed
So the sand paper fixed the arcing problem. Got some di-electric grease and that seemed to fix the hesitation under acceleration.
Will still probably replace the wires so any suggestion welcome.
Now to try cleaning the ISC valve with carb cleaner and adding a ground.
Hope I have enough beer
