I see what you did - you bought it used and modded and swapped out the JDM STi TMIC for an SSAC FMIC. You gained 19whp and lost 19lbs of torque. Was it worth it? Can you tell the difference?

Haha the first two posts I was having some fun - don't take it personal
The last question I was serious, I've always been a fan of TMIC's... and was wondering why you'd replace the JDM TMIC which is a nice rare part with an SSAC FMIC (seems like a lot of time, effort and money for minimal gains).
Not trying to bag on you, hope you're happy with the setup.

Damn dude, thats some serious power!
I have an almost stock STi and even with the stock amount of power it sometimes gets me in trouble and even scares me because its not what Im used to... I get to 100mph MUCH faster then I should and its difficult to drive without breaking the law big time... I can't imagine having 100 extra wheel horsepower! Must be fun as hell, just be careful and don't get into trouble, I know how easy it is to get busted when you have that much horsepower...
Man, I'd love to take a ride in your car... Especially when you have everything finished! Good choice going to Mike at GST for your tune also.

I forgot to ask if you were running 91 octane with those numbers?
Also, I can't believe you got a 2004 STi for 18k. Do you mind telling me what the specs on the STi you got when you bought it? Things like miles, modifications, and anything else you can think of. I'm really curious.
I thought I got my 2007 STi for a great deal... $26K for a 2007 STi with 11k miles on it and no mods, even the tires were almost new.

PS: The stock STi tune is really terrible so it's a good thing that the previous owner took it to EQ Tuning to get the car tuned because the last thing you want is a high mileage STi that runs lean thanks to a crappy factory tune... But EQ fixed that.
